Lightning Protection
As the world’s weather patterns have been changing rapidly, we are experiencing extreme climate conditions. Because of these extreme conditions, new problems are occurring. Kratt Electric, Inc. is a lead provider in the protection of one of the most valuable entities in the home or business—electronic devices.
Lightning strikes have an average charge of 30-50 million volts and a current of 18,000 amps and can pose serious detrimental destruction to electronic devices. The rapid changes in weather patterns coupled with the rise of electronic devices existent in the home have resulted in an increase of lightning strikes.
The best way to protect your home or business is by installing a Lighting Protection System. The system does not repel nor attract lightning; rather it leads a lightning strike to a safe place—the ground. The Lightning Protection System includes a full layout of electrical components, such as:
- Lightning conductors
- Air terminals
- Ground electrodes
- Compression lugs/connectors
- Mechanicals
- Lightning conductor cable
- Through-roof/wall connectors
- Bonding lugs and plates
- Lightning warning systems
A lightning protection system is installed around the exterior of the house or business including but not limited to: roofs, chimneys, the exterior sides and the ground around the outside of the dwelling.
Kratt Electric, Inc. will complete a full analysis of the project by taking all square footage and components involved and create a full layout to protect your home or business from a lighting strike or surge of electricity.
Upon completion of the project, there will be a third-party inspection that will take place to ensure UL Certification Master Label on all products used and a complete system per NFPA 780.
