Whole home electrical diagnostics are great for old homes, new homes, and businesses alike! With our comprehensive diagnostics, Kratt Electric, Inc. will locate any electrical problems and determine if your electric is up to the current National Electrical Code (NEC) Standards.

Diagnostics of Main Distribution Panel/Exterior Service:

Kratt Electric, Inc. starts at the main distribution panel and will ensure all wiring is performed per NEC code in a neat, professional manner. Kratt Electric, Inc. also checks all exterior components of electrical service, diagnostics includes but not limited to:

Breaker sizing
Shared neutrals
Individual neutral lugs
Appropriate grounding and bonding
UL Listed components/devices
Double taps
Anti-oxidation on all aluminum connections
Panel fill
Corrosion/rust
Open knock outs
Panel type (to ensure panel is not on recall or considered dangerous)
Service entrance cable conditions
Sealed penetrations into dwelling
Meter socket (height, location, corrosion)
Weather head, to ensure secured and intact
Straps are installed at appropriate locations
Complete grounding system

Diagnostics of conductors:

Kratt Electric, Inc. will complete a visual inspection of conductors throughout the dwelling and exposed areas, including but not limited to: crawl spaces, attics, unfinished basements, garages, etc. to get an understanding of what wiring is installed in the home.

If Kratt Electric, Inc. finds unsuitable wiring, we will put a plan in progress to demo and install new wiring or to install arc-fault circuit interrupter protection to control wiring until ready for removal.

Diagnostics of all electrical components and devices:

Kratt Electric, Inc. checks all polarity on duplex devices and ensures they are in working condition and are not outdated, loose, or broken. Kratt Electric, Inc. also ensures all wiring is contained and that there are no open splices or unhoused wiring, all switches are working correctly, cover plates are present in all areas, all appliances have correct wiring and connections, and disconnects are installed and of working condition.
